Music Video Examples (a Critique) - P1(a-f)
Here is two videos that I find inspiring:
1) Flo Rida - Whistle
Whistle - is a pop rap song which was very popular in 2011 - 2012. In this video I like the script and shots as well. The song is slow and sad, as well as video. Through all the video it is kept an amazing atmosphere that is really suitable to the song. I think that this is a good example of music because this music is energetic, fast and drives you to move.
2) John Newman - Love Me Again
1) Flo Rida - Whistle

2) John Newman - Love Me Again
In this one I like the camera work. It has been shot by two cameras at the same time to have such an effect. The atmosphere of the video is amazing. Slow motion shots are done perfectly. I think that this song is a good example because it is very energetic.

Production schedule and Shotlist - P2(d)
To make sure that we are meeting the deadlines, we needed to make a production process plan and be good with organising our time. Therefore, we met with all the crew and decided when can we film and when we can not. After discussing that, we have created the plan and our really organised group have been following this plan at all the time.
Shot list.
We didn't want to make your video look boring for a viewer because our project is a music video and it should be energetic fast and contain a huge amount of different shots. Therefore, before we start shooting, we have decided to make this list to make sure that we have included every shot we possibly could.

Recce - P2(e)
We have been shooting out film mainly in Kent College but in different parts of school like:
- Library
- Wesley common room
- Main entrance.
- Drama studio.
Those pictures shows the places where we have been filming:
Library.
This location took place during 1- 3 scenes where we were filming how the boy is trying to talk with the girl he likes, but she is completely ignores him.
Wesley House common room.
The Main Entrance.
Drama Studio.
In drama studio the main song have been played and filmed. This shots helped us to fill the gaps between the different shots and also gave the viewer a nice impression.Monday, 11 August 2014

Setting up appropriate equipment - P3(a)
This list shows the equipment which we have been using through the filming production.
- Camera - Canon 7D DSLR + Battery
- 32GB Compact flashcard
- Canon 50 mm f/1.8 mf/af (human eye effect)
- Canon 18-55 mm zoom f/3.5-5.6 mf/af (wide angle)
- Canon 18-55 mm zoom f/3.5-5.6 USM mf/af (wide angle)
- Tripod - Velbon DV6000 + carry bag
- PS-Hague Pro Steadymount
- Dolly – Velbon DL-11
- Canon camera bag
Here is the copies of our booking sheet of the equipment.
Unfortunately, this booking sheet does not represent all the equipment which we booked during our filming process.
Camera - Canon 7D DSLR + Battery
Those images shows the camera Canon 7D DSLR which we have been using nearly at all the time to film. This camera allowed us to take different shots with the use of different lenses.
32GB Compact flash card
This flash card was always in our Canon 7D DSLR camera where the all footage have been saved. After every time we done our filming, we would have to transfer the data to our laptops.
This lens is giving you a normal human eye effect. Therefore, we were using this lens to music video 5 -6 scene. There are some pictures to show those shots: Canon 50 mm f/1.8 mf/af.
Canon 18-55mm zoom f/3.5-5.6 mf/af
This lens gives wide angle which we haven't use a lot, unfortunately, but there were some shots where this lens was essential. For example our 8th scene ( Kent College's main entrance )
Canon 18-55 mm zoom f/3.5-5.6 USM mf/af (wide angle)
This lens allows you to film using dolly and the footage will be high quality even if the camera was shaking. This lens decreases has better focus then the previous lens and the footage will not be as blurry as if you would use Canon 18-55 mm zoom f/3.5-5.6 mf/af. Therefore, we have used this lens in the same shot ( 4th and 8th ), so that the quality of the footage would be high.
Tripod - Velbon DV6000 + carry bag
The tripod is essential part of equipment as well as camera, because tripod alloys us to steady and focus our camera so the footage will be high quality. Therefore we have made sure that we use it at all the time.
PS-Hague Pro Steadymount
Steady mount is a really useful peace of equipment as well, but we did use it a lot, because nearly all our shots have been based in one place, except of the 8th shot where we have used the Canon 18-55 mm zoom f/3.5-5.6 mf/af lenses.
Dolly – Velbon DL-11
Dolly - very useful equipment if you are filming how someone is walking. We have used this equipment again in the 4th shot when our singer is singing. This is a picture of this shot
Canon camera bag
Camera bad is essential equipment, because it protects camera in case it falls. Therefore, we have used this bad at all the time.
